Another IMPD Narc Busted

Another narcotics officer for the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, Jason Barber, has been arrested on criminal charges. Barber is accused of selling a handgun to a felon and official misconduct. His arrest is reported to be unrelated to the arrest of three other narcotics officers for drug dealing and other related charges, although Barber worked with two of those officers, Jason Edwards and Robert Long. Officer James Davis was also charged with Edwards and Long.

If the case* is good and it holds up he deserves dismissal from IMPD. If there is any more riff-raff within the ranks it would behoove The Colonel, PSD Newman, and Chief Spears to purge IMPD of this before anything gets out of hand.

*as always, innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

I am pleased the new administration seems to be getting it's trash taken out. It's a bit disheartening there seems to be a lot of trash needing removal.

Next on the agenda, cleaning up the City Council? One can only hope.

Except that his girlfriend is former councilwoman, Sherron Franklin, who Ballard promoted and gave her a nice position. He is not Mr. Clean in all of this.

Who was in charge when this one, as well as the other 3 were hired?
Strict guidelines? Peterson / Anderson hired peole based on race and pulse. If they "fit the need" and had a pulse, they were hired. Background checks were skipped. Refrences were NOT checked. Employment history was overlooked.
All they needed was a pulse.

Indianapolis Narcotics division is as corrupt as can be!!! Ask my friend who was nearly beaten to death by them, and then charged with battery to a police officer. I thought their job was to serve and protect, not to beat down, taze and mace!!!
