The Stark Reality Of National Debt

Rep. Pete Stark (D-CA) explains to an interviewer that the size of the national debt is a good measure of the wealth of our country. The more debt we have, the wealthier nation we will be Stark explains. Stark then goes on to denigrate the interviewer for attending a no-nothing college and not having any basic understanding of economics because he questioned his premise. That's what he said before telling the interviewer repeatedly to shut up and then ending the interview by telling him to get the fuck out of his office before he threw him out the window. I'm telling you, folks, we're screwed as a nation. The only people who get elected to government any more are pompous assholes like Stark with distorted views of economic realities. Stark has been a member of Congress for 36 years. Shockingly, the guy holds a degree from MIT!

Yes I have heard the bit about the national debt and it being a percentage of the GNP and how we shouldn't worry about it. Funny how Stark is from California. I guess his state can just keep borrowing from the Federal Government to get out of debt. If Stark's Republican opponent doesn't use this interview against him in the next election his campaign manager should be fired. I could even think up several good voice overs that could be used after showing this clip and I have never had a advertising or marketing class in my life.

This is exactly the sort of thing Baron Hill is fighting against, politicians having their rude outbursts captured and put on youtube for all to see.

Of course, politicians figuring out they should muzzle themselves before making said rude outbursts would be an easy solution. Well, maybe not so easy for some of them.
