Volunteers Demonstrate In Support Of Embattled ACC Director

The Star's Heather Gillers has a story about a demonstration held on Monument Circle yesterday by about 30 animal shelter volunteers in support of embattled Animal Control and Care Director Douglas Rae. The Ballard administration placed Rae on 30-days' probation after several City Councilors and Humane Shelter activists met secretly with Public Safety officials in late August in an effort to have Rae, who had been on the job all of about six months, fired from his job. Acting Public Safety Director Mark Renner would not comment on Rae's job status, but he did express continuing concern about his management of the agency. "I am still concerned with management issues at ACC and continue to work with Mr. Rae and monitor his progress," Renner told Gillers in an e-mail.

Once again we have Ballard listening to his insiders with an agenda over the voices of The People he pledged to serve.
