Honda chose well since Gov. Mitch Daniels and Clark know each other well from Republican politics.<BR/><BR/>Both made it clear they kept politics out of the economic development effort. The governor was careful to note the state didn't hire Baker and Daniels. Honda did.<BR/><BR/>And Clark made sure to explain he could separate his jobs. "You guys are confusing my night job with my day job," he said of the potential to mix politics with lawyering."<BR/><BR/>I try very hard to apply one rule when I read things about politicians / political situations. If it is something about a politician I don't like, and it is something that reflects poorly on them, I try to subsitute the same situation with someone I do like. Conversely, if it is someone I do like, and it is good news, I try to imagine the same situation happening to someone I don't like and see if I would be as happy. <BR/><BR/>So, in this particular case, the story read a bit fishy to me. I read it again substituting someone I agree with, and I would still be uncomfortable with it.<BR/><BR/>SO, I am just wondering, would those of you who tend to agree with all things Mitch think this was okay if, say, Ann Delaney (not my choice for someone I necessarily trust, just seems like the most polarizing Dem off the top of my head) were substituted in the story for Clark and she said "You guys are confusing my night job with my day job"?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
