Lots of it.<BR/><BR/>And, the mayor knows him--but keeps him at arm's length.<BR/><BR/>It's the county chairman, Mr. Treacy, who is close to Hahn, not the mayor. Fellow lobbyist, influence peddler, etc.<BR/><BR/>And, what's the big deal with one more law firm giving contradictory or self-serving advice? Tabbert joins the ranks of Ice Miller in the Lawrence Water Utility fiasco.<BR/><BR/>You're a lawyer--who polices this stuff?<BR/><BR/>That's right...other lawyers.<BR/><BR/>As for Mr. Bowell, he was always a self-serving, pompous guy, who rose to "fame" as the "voice" of the Parks Dept. on Ch. 16, if I recall correctly.<BR/><BR/>This pretty much ruins his influence-peddling tenure. He was a rank amatuer playing in the same ballpark with people of Treacy's and Hahn's ilk. Whatever possessed him to think he could or should try to influence library construction contracts? He had zero experience in the construction world. It was greed, purely and simply. An opportunity arose, he snatched it.<BR/><BR/>His lack of experience was obvious.<BR/>The more-experienced folks set him up...their friends got contracts, and now, Bowell is no longer needed by the same power merchants who steered him in the right direction. His vote was recorded, the contracts went a cetain way, and he's gone. Poof.<BR/><BR/>Also, pay attention to Turner in the future.
