AMEN. Right on, Gary. The fawning over these two shameless corporations, sorry, "teams" by Indy taxpayers is sickening.

In terms of beneavolent owners, the Simons outpace Irsay by miles. They saved this team from being moved 20-plus years ago.

And as far as pro sports go, I'm much more emphatic that we have to have an NBA team than I am about an NFL team.

Mildly sympathetic.

In exchange for this open mind, as a longtime fan and season ticket holder, I'd have to see a remarkable turnaround in management. I think Donny Walsh is one of the best managers in the league. But the quality of character in today's athletes is sorely lacking. And athletes is all this team has to market to us, the public.

Soooooo...

Donny: jettison Jackson today. If you think he's going to clean up his act, you have the patience of Job. The other three player involved in this little incident should get fines and stern warnings as their "last chance."

And let the Pacers become the good behavior capital of the NBA. Whether they win or lose (hopefully win), that would make them marketble to the public here.

Without it, sadly, I say let the team go if you have to, CIB. Not one more dime of our money.

Ya see, these public/private deals have to involve, at some point, trust by the public.

We ought to be happy the Simons own this team. They're good owners. They're understandably jealous of the Irsay deal. It looks like we sent in a negotiating team with the talents of children.

But this week's ridiculous display of machismo just ab out did me in.

Very, very thin is the ice under the Simons' feet. Which is too bad. They deserve better.
