The Democratic member, Ed Delaney, who is more reasonable asleep that his wife is awake, cast the dissenting vote. <BR/><BR/>This recount certification was extremely political. There were over 40 votes still contested by the time the recount was finished. I don't know the outcome if those votes are counted.<BR/><BR/>If you live in the 97th, one thing is certain: thanks to the partisan rulings of Field Marshall Rokita, you might not every know who won.<BR/><BR/>No slight meant to Jon, whom I've met several times and who would do a great job. That's not the point. <BR/><BR/>I never cease to be amazed at Republican vote-supression methodology. It's frightening.<BR/><BR/>If all the votes get counted and Jon wins, so be it.<BR/><BR/>But that has not happened yet.<BR/><BR/>Nor did the Recount Commission rule on the ridiculous omission of the 97th race from 15-17 ballots sent to a nursing home. Or one precinct that had a computer glich and did not have the 97th House race on its ballots untol about 10 a.m., after 34-37 persons had voted.<BR/><BR/>Im aware statues only allow this commission to rule on cast ballots and to perform a recount. Other issues are left to courts. So be it.<BR/><BR/>Both these occurences were in heavily-Democratic precincts.<BR/><BR/>Jon may have one. I, for one, am tired of Maherns in public office.
