Several years ago I had to fly out of O'Hare, and took a cab from where I was staying to the airport. The cabbie told me the company he worked for and all the other cab companies had to pay an airport access fee ($1-2 every visit). EXCEPT for ONE cab company, the one owned by Mayor Daley's wife. I always wondered if that was true.

I still cannot figure out why their still has not been any federal investigations into FSSA, DCS, or into DWD's troubles! My God what is it going to take for the feds to actually do their job! Federal investigations have been started over much less!

There's no there there to Tully's article. It talks in generalities without, as you say, connecting the dots. There should have been a criminal investigation launched over the awarding of the Indianapolis parking meter deal. You had the CCC President working for the law firm that was lobbying for the private vendor, pushing for and voting for its passage--even throwing a member of his own party off a key committee because she opposed it. The Star made a bigger deal out of State Rep. Jud McMillan supporting a $600,000 grant awarded by a board he sits on to a business owned by family members, even though he acknowledged he had a conflict and abstained from voting. You had another council member, Angel Rivera, working as a subcontractor for ACS/Xerox at the time he voted on it. He's now left town for a new job in Dallas where ACS/Xerox is headquartered. Is anyone at the Star or elsewhere in the media going to inquire about his new job?

I read the article you refer to in the Sun Times. I cannot imagine The Star ever writing a article like the Sun Times published.

Would the Star ever connect the dots between our Mayors in Indy and back room politics and Pirate Capitalism? I think not.

Tully has an article in today's Star about Lobbyists and their influence at the State Level. I do not recall reading in an expose' in The Star by Tully or any other Star about the Crony Capitalism in Marion County.
