Actually, a drunk driving citizen who killed an IPD police officer only got 8 years. On August 17, 1993, Elvis L. Lacy struck and killed on-duty IPD Officer Teresa Hawkins. He had a BAC of .191 when he crashed into Officer Hawkins' marked police vehicle. He was found guilty of three class C felonies and served 8 years. Bisard was convicted of a class B felony and thus that is why I believe he will be sentenced to the 10 years with all others years to be served concurrently.

Ten years for the B Felony (IC 35-50-2-5)with mitigating circumstance. All other counts to be served concurrently. Serves 5 years, getting 2-for-1 for good behavior with 5 years probation upon release...if I were a gambling man. The State gets their pound of flesh. Anything more is just excessive and outside the sentencing norm.
