Hite's name didn't show up on any e-mail communications so I doubt Straub involved him with it. I don't believe he had been in his job very long when this all transpired. It was primarily Mayes, Michalik and Requiz-Smith.

The recent smoke detector ordinance, authored by lobbyists for Kidde Smoke Detector Company, and whose company gave hundreds of Kidde smoke detectors to IFD and Butler University(Hunter's employer) and was crafted without any input from fire safety officials, AND would serve to improve Kidde's bottom line hundreds of percentage points, left Mary Moriarty Adams and Ben Hunter SHOCKED that any one would question their ethics in continuing to push the proposal without any consideration of changes that might actually save lives of residents and be more cost effective than the Kidde ordinance. The really depressing part is that they want us to trust them to develop a new Justice Center and jail next, even while the ROC looks like a disaster zone. Its just a complete abandonment of the interests of the voters who live and work in the area of the old Eastgate Mall who trusted that this project was a beautification of the site that would bring in jobs and a revitalization of the area. We feel deceived. And as details come out, we feel shocked that such bad business decisions were made. How is it that we ever had such faith in Straub that we let him run with this awful plan.

Thank you for another fact-filled news report about the slimy way members of both local political parties treat the hard-toiling taxpayers of Marion County. THIS DEALL HAS STUNK SINCE DAY ONE. Ballard, his COS (whom I happen to believe is the actual mayor of the City), the City Councilors named herein, all who pushed this foul deal... every one of them should be run out of town on a rail... including the insiders who manipulate this system.

I used to think voting for Democrats instead of Republicans would effect some change. I no longer believe this as both parties are merely shades apart and are basically the same.

So, Marion County GOP.... CHANGE is needed from the MCRCC top seats to the County Chairs and their ghost PC's.
