Eric Holcombs pollsters called me....trashed every other candidate who actually lives in the state....maybe Holcomb should be senator from dc (if they had one) because he isn't actually a Hoosier. He is A long time resident of dc and that isn't imo a rep for indiana

As one who watched and listened to Eric Holcomb up close and personal during the meetings, the dinners, the glad-handing just about anywhere in the Marion County and State GOP, I found Holcomb to be an ultimate self-server excelling at advancing his interests. He is definitely not a deep thinker nor is he a "Conservative Republican". Holcomb is far more like Karl Rove; Holcomb can mouth the words but he has no Conservative philosophical spine... he's one of those insider bureaucrats with a sublime talent to see which way the RINO wind is blowing and set his sails accordingly and change the sails on a dime when the winds shift. My take on Holcomb is that he would be one of those "R" candidates where campaigning has become little more than Republicans visiting their hand-picked "Republican grass roots" groups. "R" candidates who make the rounds to the various township groups locally/statewide far more often then going directly to the voters... where robo-calls and telephone rooms allow a candidate from having to go interact with voters while stooge workers are exhorted to "telephone banks" to bother voters with ineffective calls asking for votes.

From what I've seen, Eric Holcomb would be a lousy candidate, he's no where near as accomplished a speaker as his is in his own mind, he has little excitement about his persona, and he has all the sex appeal of celery. That being said, those are qualifications I'd say would cause Mike Pence to support him. And to be supported by the old, out of touch guys and guys in the GOP.
