It's hard to sympathize with Marianne Gingrich when she played the role of the other woman in his first marriage. It's not intruding when it involves a Republican candidate. It is always intruding when it's a Democratic candidate, particularly Barack Obama. It's funny how the media completely refused to cover allegations of Obama's down low sex with gay men but gave front-page coverage to every woman Herman Cain had supposedly made eyes at. The media also didn't seem to think that Bill Clinton's serial womanizing was relevant.

In Newt's case, looking at his face when asked the question by John King, and taking into consideration his strong reaction, I would say that my opinion is that his ex-wife's allegations may be closer to reality than his own self-redacted version.

And, I disagree that the media is "intruding". The personal behavior of candidates for office is indicative of the "official" behavior they might later exhibit in office.

If voters don't mind Newt's "warts", then they can feel free to vote for him. But, voters should be given the opportunity to choose based upon as much information as is floating about out there.
