Hmm, I didn't know that.

I thought dirty laundry was more along ths lines of dragging out past domestic unrest and running a smear campaign when you are fearful of losing to your opponent in a congressional race.

You're not concerned about a public servant being convicted of felony theft, embezzlement and lying on a professional application? Please tell me you are kidding. That goes to the very heart of one's fitness for office. I would add that he was 25when these events happened (and the professional license was later), not some teenager.

What mitigates against this though is that is now almost 30 years old - ancient history. As I indicated, I'm a lot more interested in what is going on now in Southport which is a problem.

Thoman has gone to great lengths to hide his past. Why, if he has nothing to hide? Why lie or merely be evasive on his dental license application?

While these events in his past are troubling, especially as they appear to involve dishonesty and possible mispending of money held in trust, what matters much, much more to me is what is going on in Southport NOW.

I am concerned that Thoman, without the approval of the Southport Council, approving the filing of a frivolous lawsuit against someone who has been a thorn in the side to Thoman, costing Southport taxpayers a boatload of money.

In addition, Thoman has spent a bundle of taxpayer money hiring politically connected law firms and the GOP Marion County Chairman, undoubtedly to curry favor with party insiders.

Southport is a very small city which consists of I believe, two precincts. Those poor folks can't afford six figure legal bills from Barnes & Thornburg and other big law firms. There is no reason for Southport to pay inflated legal fees to these firms when smaller firms will produce the same or better legal work while billng much more reasonably.
