The 2nd time was not even close to a proper consolidation. That was cronyism and protection for the Ghetto Mafia at its best.

Once it was suggested that townships be eliminated once the fire department is removed, Bill Crawford & Glenn Howard couldn't kill Peterson's Plan fast enough.

I'm a Democrat, 3:43, and even I don't believe that.

Enough people from both parties contributed to the township government bill's downfall in the last session. It really doesn't matter who gave it the final blow...it died.

Townships need to go. Yesterday. I'm sure there are some fine, dedicated public servants in those jobs and the support staffs.

But way too many are arrogant beyond belief. Including several right here in Marion County.

Enough already.

Too bad local republicans blocked the modernizing of government in the last session of the legislature. That is why when their candidate for mayor comes out for it, it rings hollow. His own party killed it in the legislature.......
