Let's see, President Barack Hussein Obama last December compared Republicans in Congress to hostage takers--mind you while Democrats still had overwhelming majorities in both houses--to explain why he agreed to extend Bush era tax cuts he had denounced for years and promised to repeal once he was elected President. No outrage expressed by you or anyone in the media when he casually made that pronouncement to reporters during a press conference. Republicans in Congress hadn't shut down the Capitol by leaving the country to get out of reach of law enforcement efforts to return them to their duly elected posts to carry out their constitutional duties as these Democratic lawmakers are doing. Even more despicable is that we are compelled to continue paying them while they are being paid by special interests to remain outside the jurisdiction to prevent the business of government from taking place. This isn't a simple act of civil disobedience against an oppressive government; it's an extremely undemocratic and extortion-like way of getting what one wants to serve one's favored constituency. We hold elections for a reason. One party wins, one party loses. A minority simply should not be allowed to overturn the wishes of the elected majority by shutting down a branch of government and by refusing to show up to do the job they took an oath to fulfill. Their oath isn't conditioned upon getting their way.

To me, calling anyone a terrorist who hasn't planned to or taken up a weapon and inflicted or intended to inflict damage on innocent people is inflammatory, uncivil, and unnecessary. Please consider retracting such language and substituting something more appropriate to a serious discussion of controversial issues.
