The free stay at the ranch was a drop in the bucket compared to the value of the private chartered jet that flew Scalia down to the ranch. The public deserves to know who paid for all of the costs associated with that trip. Maybe our independent judiciary isn't as independent as we're led to believe if they can be wined and dined no different than the politicians who long ago sold us out to the special interest groups lining their pockets.

So many of the commentators on Freerepublic are begging for an investigation. In the words of George W Bush to the terrorists, "I say bring it on!" Let's do a complete vis a vis 9/11 investigation. I can't wait to learn he was with prostitutes.

And for those saying an autopsy should have been done, I agree. However, you get what you pay for. Texas has poor civil services because they don't want to pay taxes. You want a medical examiner, they don't come for free.

Indiana is in the same boat. We haven't any type of qualified model of death investigations. The coroner's system is antiquated. The only qualifications to be coroner is to be 18yrs of age, live in the county of service and have a pulse.

Several years ago Sen. Pat Miller brought up the subject of indiana moving towards a medical examiner's system, but was easily bought out by the lobbyist for the Indiana Coroner's Association.
