Mayor Berry of DC bused people in from all the locations he could find. He offered them food and in some cases a place to sleep. Many of these new found voters did not exist before. Another question, did anyone have time to run a NICs check on these newly acquire voters. A common Obama tactic this year has been to have students vote at their parent's home and then again at their college address. It is illegal and nobody should be registered twice. If you need to change your address, then put in a change of address form. You're an attorney, ipopa. You should know better than to register twice. The purpose of SVRS is to catch people like you who knowingly register twice. I guess we know why your party fought its implementation so hard.Gary R. I assumed I was because I had voted in the past presidential, but I had moved, so I figured there would be no harm in submitting a new application because it would be detected. In other words, I arguably had submitted a "duplicate" voter registration application, but I wasn't trying to do anything fraudulent. I was just trying to be sure I could vote because I honestly didn't know for certain.<BR/><BR/>With any voter registration group, they'll talk to TONS of people who don't know if they are registered. But just like in my situation, a duplicate registration doesn't give me two votes. AI, can you flesh this out? You also say that there were fraudulent registrations with made up names? I could actually see some zealous kid trying to raise his numbers by making up some John Doe, but how does a made up John Doe vote? And more importantly, can you direct me to any story about ANY criminal trial of ANY employee of this group, let alone a conviction?
