As they say, if you subsidize something, you get more of it. We are subsidizing what used to be considered illegitimacy at every level. We afre effectively subsidizing young poor women not completing high school. We are subsidizing their childbearing- often children who themselves have never lived in a decent functional family situation having children. What chance do these children have? We are subsidizing the opportunity for irresponsible to sociopathic men to live with these women in the housing that we have subsidized largely because they have children. Thus we subsidize these children sharing their homes and their mothers with men who have no personal interest in the children, only what they can get from their mothers. In Matt Tully's research into the Phoenix he found that many men were living in these apartments which were being rented to single women and their children. We thus are subsidizing the creation of situations that are the perfect storm with respect to being setups for abusive actions upon children. And this subsidy comes largely from families who are functional but being dragged down by the increased taxes they are assessed to provide health care, maternity care, Section 8 housing, increased law enforcement to deal with the increased crime , etc. that results from the degeneracy in society which has been produced by previously subsidizing such behavior in a self-propagating viscious cycle. <BR/><BR/>The only surprise to me is that this does not happen more often. One could have taken TaJanay away from these people and never sent her back.
