My gut feeling at this stage is that there are going to be some serious voting "irregularities" this go a around.
Computer voting machines I DO NOT TRUST. Is the voter given a receipt of their vote?
Absentee ballots are a fraudster's dream. There WILL be challenges and whose to say how many of those ballots get shredded?

The party listed first, is the party which carried the county for the Secretary of State's race. In each party, the names are listed in alpha order (if there's more than one candidate, as in at large races).

And whoever thinks the Peterson poll is a push poll doesn't understand the meaning of the term.

I am always amazed at people's lack of underestanding of the voting system. Yet they often offer comments which are taken as complete gospel.

Anon 1031, If there is no surge and Bart is ahead in the polls with a comfortable lead. Why has he broken his promise about running a clean campaign and started going negative towards Greg Ballard? Why has he started push polling? Why am I getting 2 or 3 mailers a day from the Dems telling me that people are trying to destroy Bart or that Greg Ballard is a bad choice? My boyfriend and I sent in applications for absentee ballots in early September. As of 10-31-07 we had never received them. We stopped in the Clerk's office at the CCB to inquire and were told his had been mailed (but never arrived) and mine had never even been received by the Clerk.

We've both been quite active in the anti-property tax and local government protests. I'm no conspiracy theorist but it's certainly interesting that neither of us received our ballots. Hopefully this is not yet another Beth White screw-up. Thankfully we were able to vote absentee while at the CCB.

If you're still waiting for your absentee ballot, I urge you to go to the CCB and vote in person. Don't miss your opportunity to cast your vote!

I believe it depends on whether you cast your absentee ballot in person or by mail. If it's by mail, you have to complete and sign a ballot application under penalties of perjury. Because it is done by mail, you aren't presenting a Voter ID. If you walk in to the clerk's office to cast an absentee ballot, you will be asked to present a Voter ID.

anon 6:10, the voter can be identified with either party based upon which primary they voted in. I always vote in the Republican primary. If I cast an absentee ballot, presumably I'm a Republican. Also, the respective party's know what their absentee voter efforts are. They know how many they are collecting, which offers some clue. Parties often boast that they got x number of absentee votes so the numbers can be approximated
