On the other hand, it's next to Kansas and perhaps the Midwestern-Boy-Makes-Good theme carried over the border.<BR/><BR/>But in talking with one family member and one friend who live in Omaha, I think that Obama's victory is due to his incredible personal appeal (he spoke in Omaha last week) and great organization (my friend reported getting four phone calls to support Obama in the caucus; none came from Clinton's folks).<BR/><BR/>And while we're on topic of "west of the Mississippi," a cousin in Colorado reported that when she was called by an Obama volunteer she shared a concern about Obama's alleged political involvement with some anti-gay folks.
