Even if Ballard can get the pay-off to move the jail and create a Criminal Justice Center (at our expense)...the bums will still be loitering outside and at the doorstep and cars of the Rich people with the Market Square Condos, and the Rapid Transit Bus Station at the lot across from the CCB!

Public Safety clearly is low on Ballard's priority. He got rid of two downtown fire stations (16th and Capital and Fire HQ on Mass Ave.)

Now he wants to move the criminals out.

The one motivating factor: construction! Let's see how that money is spent and how much more under the table exchanges are taking place. I hope the Regional Operations Center investigation is taken over by DOJ's Public Integrity section! -That investigation may lead to the fire stations being moved and the MSA property site as well as the proposed criminal justice center.

I distinctly remember that around 12-15 years ago, as a city employee, I got to see the presentation of a plan to build a new Justice Center (I believe on the SW corner of Alabama & Washington).
It would be paid for completely by user fees.
I think it was sponsored by the Marion County Bar Association.
Guess that idea didn't fly.
