I was there for the inaugural race when Gordon took the first win and have been a big fan of his since then. I've actually learned from watching NASCAR that if there aren't a lot of fans booing you, then you probably ain't got much going for you. The driver who drew the loudest negative reaction at that inaurgural race was Dale Earnhardt, Sr. During an interview on Larry King about a year ago, Jeff Gordon related how Dale, Sr. came up to him one day and asked him if it were true he was a homosexual. Gordon just laughed it off, and he said he and Dale got along just fine from that point on.Gary R. But hey it's open to people of all walks of life.<BR/><BR/>BTW, there's a long running inside "story" about the sexuality of drivers Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson. The timing of Jimmie Johnson becoming Jeff's teammate at the same time Jeff's former (trophy) wife filed for divorce added fuel to the fire, considering Johnson was a nobody driver until Gordon "discovered" him. There used to be T-shirts out that read <B>F</B>ans <B>A</B>gainst <B>G</B>ordon. With the letters F-A-G in very large print and a number 24 with a "no" sign over it. Both are married (to women - supermodels at that of course) and Jeff Gordon & his wife just had their first child - which led to comments among the anti-Jeff fans to ask "Who's the father?"<BR/><BR/>I was there today - up in the Paddock Penthouse, right at the start/finish line. <BR/><BR/>I have a bone to pick with the powers that be at IndyGo. Last year was a very smooth back and forth to Downtown, they changed it for the 500 and we stood in the rain for 45 minutes before boarding a bus. They didn't learn from that because this year was a joke again. I went a few years ago but got tired of roasting like a potato in the stands and two of walked down to the Applebee's drank beer and watched the race there. I was new in town and didn't realize they shut down Allisonville Rd and my friends were very pissed when they had to swing by to get us. <BR/><BR/>I'd go if I could be in a suite, so I guess I won't be going anytime soon.<BR/><BR/>Go Tony!
