I love how everybody is so anti-Abdul and anti-IU all of a sudden. Both received praises from MANY for helping Indy, and now all of that is loss on trivial questions about search warrants, blog moderators, etc.
Was Abdul posting on IU? Who knows, and who cares, but you would think that those who feel Abdul is IU . . . would give him a thanks instead of saying he sold out. I just don't get it - maybe Ruth and Gary are jealous they didn't think of IU.

Being a CI is a dangerous profession. Their are no guarantees or promises given. While a handler may say "we will do all we can to protect you", their is no contract implicit in those words.

Sorry, its a rough job. This is also not the first case of a name of a CI being outed. Happens alot. Even happens in court from time to time. Have their been any search warrants before because of this?

The question is, why a search warrant for this one. That is where the story is. To go into someones home, one should have a good reason.

You might also want to take a look at the elements of the crime of obstruction of justice. Justice actually DOES have to be obstructed before a crime is committed. On the one had, they denounce Affirmative Action saying race-based quotas are unconstitutional and that everyone needs to just pull themselves up buy their bootstraps - while ignoring the fact that playing field remains unlevel for minorities (Clarence Thomas).

I find it interesting that AI and others are so excited by the search warrant that was issued but never served. I am curious as to what law was broken to allow such a search warrant. There is no protection in the law for a CI that I know of.

And if no law was broken, then how do you get a search warrant for evidence. Seems extremly thin and close to a violation of the fourth amendment.

Yet, AI and others are all for it. An invasion of ones home by the authorities seems to be the type of thing we should monitor closely and demand accountability of.

There are several possible reasons for this, but it is not really that important. I wouldn't make a big deal about that.

Gary, I note in your comments on Abdul's blog (which should be preserved here so he doesn't delete them) that Abdul was cheeky enough to ask you why they didn't serve that warrant. You then ask him who intervened. That is the question that needs to be answered. There are only a few people in the IMPD who could go over Boomershine's head, and there is one other person outside of IMPD who could order a stand down, that being Brizzi. So who did it? As has been pointed out before, Brizzi is on that show an awful lot, and it gives him a great soapbox both for his current position and in preperation for his next run for another office.

There is more to this, much more. We need to find out.
