One thing that's lost on Tully, is the public's right to know.

Its good that he brought it to the attention of his bosses.

Readers of his opinion had a right to know that his wife worked at Lilly in high management and sat on day care board. Maybe that would have led readers to see a consistent passion for the topic. Maybe they would see a conflict leading to writing the column. But, it was important information for the reader.

I quit considering anything written by Tully as being more than fiction after his cover-up of Julia Carson being sick during her last re-election run. He had an obligation to report her supposed encounter with a "Little white girl" who had "appeared" to Julia from the "air" when Julia had a meltdown during an interview. Tully was there and paused the interview. I was there and saw him do so. The meltdown should have been reported to the public so the voters could make an informed decision....Tully acted as though nothing happened and we have been stuck with Andre Carson ever since.... Tully always has had his own agenda as does the Star.

The problem with Tully is he thinks the problems bloggers have with him is his liberal opinions. No, it's his complete lack of intellectual honesty and his flat-out refusal to write about local political corruption that would put the administration in a bad light. (When, for example has Tully he ever written about the local revolving door where people leave the Ballard administration then go to contractors who lobby the Ballard administration.) It's sad that he's sitting in the chair of Dick Cady who sacrificed so much, even going to jail, to expose Indy corruption. As far as conflicts of interest, Tully's defense doesn't obviate a need for Tully o disclose the fact that his wife works at Lilly and the fact she sits on the board of one of the providers who would benefit from Ballard's program. It matters not one whit that she's a volunteer for the latter. He still needs to disclose.

Have you noticed how paid subscription hawkers in grocery store entry points describe the best reason for home delivery of The Star? Subscription hawkers point to THE LOCAL GROCERY ADVERTISEMENTS and potential COUPON savings as a great reason to subscribe.... oh, wait..you mean a good reason is NOT for the "news"? No, not so much at all.

Armed with this knowledge of the truth reported in this article, I cannot imagine anyone from this point forward lending even an iota of respect to anything these people advocate [as if real thinkers ever did so with the Star faux journalist]; their motives should always be impugned by their lack of disclosure and honesty.
