Let&#39;s look at this record.<br /><br />First, he shamelessly caves in to the extreme right wingers in the party on the Common Core, which sets in motion the hysteria we see today over Indiana&#39;s &quot;new&quot; standards as well as the length of the ISTEP testing program. This pandering to the worst elements of the party (which is still not satisfied) also adds countless millions to the process of developing standards, testing and measuring test items, and on and on....<br /><br />Secondly, ignoring centuries of state/federal education policy and administration, he decides to create his own agency (CECI) to bypass the Dept of Education, since that office is occupied by a gasp, Democrat. Given that almost all federal and state law and procedures recognize the SEA (that stands for state educational agency) in terms of funding and administration, we know how well that agency did....how&#39;s that working out for you, Mike?<br /><br />Thirdly, we have the dunderheads that comprise our state board of education that have set the bar awfully low for education oversight and policy making.They have become a joke...<br /><br />Yes, I am sure the Governors of the other states really wish they could be you Mike.
