I still remember going to the Republican National Convention in 1980 and hearing speaker after speaker boast about how Detroit&#39;s Rennaissance Center was the city&#39;s savior. It didn&#39;t matter how much they dumped into improvements downtown and how many world class sports center they built, it never stopped the outflow to the suburbs. Now Indianapolis has decided to entice builders to build million dollar homes and luxury apartments downtown for empty nesters with massive public handouts, while pretending the outlying neighborhoods will be able to overcome their increasing challenges to keep families from fleeing to the suburbs. That&#39;s not the issue. Most sins aren&#39;t statutory crimes. I have no idea what a &quot;while angle&quot; is. If someone is applying for a job with a taxpayer-funded governmental agency, then they should be disclosing their past criminal record as a matter of course. And if the elected officials running our government keep telling us that prior criminal acts aren&#39;t relative to public service, then we should be asking more questions about how they are running are government. We have a state law that prohibits felons from running for public office in Indiana. Do you want to abolish that law as well?Gary R.
