It is a shame that Ballard has listened to the likes of the GOP Power Elites. He could have been a great Mayor. When I met him prior to the election he took 15 minutes at the Irvington Street Fair to talk to this democrat about issues. Real issues like crime and budgets, etc. I liked his perspective and he was like the maverick that John McCain wants to be. In the end though it didn't matter. He became a pawn and it is most likely he will be a one termer. I just hope we find someone with brains to lead us.

He has already stated that repeatedly...you just have not paid attention.
What are you talking about, art? The gas prices? Why is his face not all over the media stating this problem? The people Andre` is supposed to be representing are hurting because of the gas prices, and it's not getting any better. Where is the congressman in their time of dire need? Some are actually having to decide whether they eat a decent meal or buy gas to go to work, so they can buy more gas, to go to work, to buy more gas, to go to work, to buy more gas. (vicious cycle, isn't it?) Congress has the power to fix this problem, but too many members are too busy trying to keep their "do nothing" job in congress, and getting contributions from the oil companies so that congress will let them get away with it.

When will things get better for the average person? Under a B. Hussein-Obama administration?
This could go on forever, but the point is useless. Corporations run the country. And will continue to do so.

In the meantime, when he is not representing us in Washington, he is making sure that the oil companies can gouge the consumers for more money and cry "Hurricaine Ike".
When will André make a PUBLIC stand against the oil companies and make them accountable for driving the prices up, just for their own greed.
He DOES NOT help the people, he helps himself.
André, Dubya, McCain, Hussien-Obama, Burton, Pelosi, Kennady, Palin, Cheney, ect.... All one-in-the-same.
No matter who wins what office, the taxpayers are going to get screwed.

He's also spending a lot of time travelling outside of Indiana to raise campaign funds from special interest groups. Campo's campaign is too incompetent to point this out. Robert King handed Campo a gift horse in Andre's claim that a prominent Christian minister tried to extort funds from him in consideration for his support. The career law enforcement officer never reported it to the FBI. Why? Campo's campaign missed a superb opportunity to put Andre in the hot seat by demanding that he come forward with the specifics of the extortion threat and report it to the FBI. Tell him to put up or shut up. If she had done that, it just might have inflicted damage on Andre's credibility. Ergo, she didn't raise the point. It is so frustrating having to sit back and watch one GOP candidate after another here locally run the most incompetent political campaigns possible. Greg Ballard did not run a competent campaign. It was grassroots people and not the party who elected Ballard. The grassroots people who had nothing to do with the GOP made everything happen for Ballard. And those people have been tossed out like garbage. At the rate we're going, the revitalized Marion Co. GOP will be very short-lived.

But, Gary, it's more important for the Marion County GOP leadership to have someone they can "control" than someone who can advocate a forceful message. They'd rather lose with someone who will do exactly as he/she is told than to run a candidate who will have a chance to win (if not in 2008 in 2010) but who has their own mind.

Look how well Mayor Ballard has done listening to the wise political counsel of Tom John, Bob Grand and Joe Loftus rather than follow his own political instincts.
