Let's see, I'm on my death bed and I want to find a new home for him where I know he will be shown the love and care I showed for him. That about covers it. I've known plenty of people who easily pawn their pets off on other family members and friends and it's usually because taking care of the pet is an inconvenience or they are about to shack up with someone who wants nothing to do with the pet.
