“Corrupt and crooked,” is how Trump described the delegate selection process. He could also be describing the Campaign Finance System in general. The McMega-Media defines candidates "elect-ability" by how much money they raise in campaign contributions.

Left unsaid is how these contributions effect the candidate. I do not think people contribute large sums of money to a campaign, PAC or Super PAC because they love Representative Democracy. The donors are making an investment in a product, in this case the candidate, that will support the contributors ideology.

Look, like Ogden, I do not like the way National delegates are chosen in Indiana. I prefer to allow State convention delegates to select the RNC delegates. That being said, I find no fault in the current slate of delegates announcing their opposition to Trump. They are bound during the first vote anyway.

Nothing would be more inimical to the federalized system of the Republican Party than to allow a presidential candidate to name his or her delegates to the RNC.
