Ballard already gave the MSA land to Flaherty & Collins, along with almost $20 million, to build their 28-story luxury apartment building. Our corrupt city leaders reward these developers handsomely for their campaign contributions and other under-the-table gratuities.

There is nothing redeeming in that IBJ editorial. It buys into the "public-private partnership" hook, line and sinker as a viable and cost-effective way of doing the project. It read more to me like someone ticked off because the Ballard administration leaked information to the Star reporter who writes press releases for the administration rather than report instead of one of their reporters.

Mayor Greg Ballard announced plan is to rely entirely on a private developer to build, operate and maintain a massive new criminal justice system. What is new. Read IBJ issue on the subject. Hey IBJ is making sense. We need more openness in city government and the courts and the jailer needs it too.
