How many times did the Bushs criticize 'activist' judges solely to score political points, and then ironically appoint the most activist justices on the Supreme Court. The setting of the SOTU is the perfect one in which to propose legislation to limit the foreign influence in our elections which the Court's decision permits.

I should also point out that Reagan, Bush I, and Bush II all criticized the supreme court in their SOTU speeches, with their criticism being about abortion.

Not that I follow national politics too closely, but I was surprised that they attend at all. I guess the most senior member of the court, Stevens, makes it a practice not to attend the State of the Union.

I do agree with Cato on the attire too. It's kind of like a doctor wearing his lab coat out in public. And trust me, NOBODY likes that guy.

Why are those idiotic judges wearing robes to a suit-and-tie affair? My God, was that tacky - and threatening.

We need to bring these judges back to reality. They're just government employees. We need to stop this silly nonsense of calling a biased governmental referee "your honor," and we need to stop the deferential business of rising when one of these tax-feeders comes in the room.
