Is wishardfacts.org part of the lobbying arm of this endeavor? There was a table there in the hospital hallway distributing literature and yard signs. Can they actively lobby inside the hospital while there referendum is active?

I just saw the Norman Cox story.

FACT: Wishard will close 5-10 years down the road, according to Gutwein.

That might not be a bad idea. There are at least 7 other major hospitals around the county. St Francis just resumed their major expansion that was put on hold earlier in the year.

I think we would all benefit by distributing the load across several existing hospitals, encouraging them to advance to Level 1 (why are they not now?) and putting the caregiver closer to the patient (few trauma cases occur downtown).

I'm picking up information from Wishard employees that the organization's e-mail list is being used to solicit support from all of the employees. The e-mails instruct the workers on what actions to take in support of the referendum but carry a disclaimer not to perform any of the volunteer efforts during work hours. The HHC is clearly violating the law by using public corporation resources to finance this effort.

Wishard has had constant construction over the past 20 years and, in fact, has been rebuilt. It has new everything, including a parking garage. The rooms are modern.

There is construction going on at this time. With all the renovations and current construction, just why do they want to tear it all down & build a new hospital?

I saw a news conference where someone said Wishard is dying. As an outsider, I see differently. I see a fabulous new hospital that has been rebuilt over the past 2 decades, with restaurants inside and new everything.
