Ethics champion my rear end!

Check into the former State Representative from Ft Wayne who was Chairman of the Ethics Committee in the House of Representatives who made a rousing speech on the House floor March 30, 2005 calling out illegal activity in state contractors and the Gaming Commission and then he leaves the House a few days later and accepts a $79,000.00 a year Deputy Commissioner's job with INDOT.

The position is a Governor appointed position and the State Rep. went form $39,000.00 annually to $79,000.00 + annually with a company car.

Hmm, one wonders if the ethics chairman forgot his ethics right along with the Governor.........

Preaching the word in an empty church brings no cash to the offering plate. NO ONE IN THE KNOW BELIEVES THERE ARE ETHICS IN THE CURRENT ADMINISTRATION.

@ Cato -- Somebody please correct me if I am wrong, but from what I have seen, the various executive agencies under Governor Daniels do not post for the uppermost positions. They are typically either politically or economically connected persons inserted into the positions. I know this is common practice regardless of party, but this governor keeps reminding us he is an ethics champion, which is absolute bull.

Workforce Development has specifically created deputy commissioner positions (3 in the last two years), and one of the positions was given to Governor Daniels' 2004 campaign policy director, Gina DelSanto, whose husband is on the Fishers Town Council. She was made DWD's only "Senior" Deputy Commissioner, even though at the time she was the newest deputy commissioner.

I would be willing to bet the new IURC General Counsel position was not posted and the man chosen is somehow politically or economically connected to the Governor or his closest cronies.
