The Greater Indianapolis Fairness Alliance (GIFA) is hosting a wine and cheese fundraising reception for State Rep. David Orentlicher (D) and House District 88 candidate Susan Fuldauer on Thursday, April 20, 2006 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at 2050 N. New Jersey Street.
Orentlicher represents a northside Indianapolis district and is, without exception, the most sensible member of the state legislature when it comes to matters of fairness and equality for the GLBT community. His district is very competitive, and he has narrowly won both of his previous elections over his Republican challenger.
Fuldauer will face off against House Speaker Brian Bosma in the general election after she is nominated in the May primary. Her website self-describes her as someone who has "been involved with important community issues such as violence against women, pay equity, accessible, patient-driven health care and issues of discrimination . . . [and] a fair-minded citizen who wants to make change for a better community and a brighter future.
If you would like to make a contribution to either candidate, GIFA asks that you make your checks payable to: "Committee to Elect David Orentlicher" or "Committee To Elect Susan Fuldauer." If you cannot attend but would like to make a contribution, you are asked to mail your checks to: GIFA, 625 N. East Street, Indianapolis, IN 46204. If you would like more information, you can e-mail Kevin at kjf6483@yahoo.com.
