Daniels Scores Big With Honda Win

A late afternoon Star report quoting the Columbus Dispatch reports that Indiana's Greensburg site has been chosen for the new Honda plant. The $400 million factory will provide 1,500 good-paying jobs to Hoosiers. What a way for Gov. Mitch Daniels to top off his trade mission to Asia. This is a big win for the Governor and the state of Indiana.

How do you think the Dems are going to spin this one? Complain about those foreigners taking over Indiana like they did with the Toll Road?

This must be like a funeral tonight for the Democrats. Daniels picked up all those new jobs while in Japan and South Korea, he comes home to announce 1,500 new jobs for the Honda plant tomorrow, and then the next day the state gets a big fat check for $3.8 billion for the toll road deal. Who's laughing now?

That's what I love about politics. Everyone is so humble.

When will both sides figure out that this isn't a game of one-upsmanship?

Anybody ever think of trying to get a win-win? Or is it only good when one side feels like they have "laughed last"?

Do Republicans really think that Democrats are evil, stupid, hate Indiana/America? Do Democrats really think the same about Republicans? Or do we just keep up the "trash talk" to make the game more interesting?

Thanks for some sanity, Paula.

What will the Dems do? Put out a statement commending the announcement. Who doesn't like new jobs?

We disagree with the Governor when it comes to his long-range job creation strategy, or lack thereof, but no one can say this isn't great news for the state.

Yeesh.
