Thomas' Career Takes Another Twist
State Rep. Andy Thomas (R) abandoned his re-election bid for his House seat earlier this year to, as he put it, spend more time with his family and pursue a teaching position at Ivy Tech. An AP story today reports that Thomas is resigning his seat immediately to take a position in the Indiana Attorney General's office, which pays $52,000 a year. He will serve as "a deputy attorney general and concentrate on social service affairs and litigation." His father, Amos, was earlier chosen by precinct committeemen to take his place on the November ballot. Presumably, those same committeemen will choose Thomas to fill his unexpired term.
