Carson Endorsing Obama

On Monday, former U.S. Rep. Andy Jacobs, Jr. endorsed Sen. Barack Obama for president. So it should come as no surprise that U.S. Rep. Andre Carson (D), on cue, would announce his support for Obama as well. The only thing unusual about this news event is the source. "Chad Chitwood, who previously worked for the late Rep. Julia Carson and now is spokesman for State Rep. David Orentlicher, confirmed the endorsement," the Star reports. “I have heard that, on the record, from sources both in D. C and Indiana,” Chitwood said. It's funny that Chitwood has time to concern himself with what other campaigns are doing but has ignored my questions to him.

A new poll released by the LA Times shows Obama ahead of Clinton in Indiana by 5 points. The survey shows Obama leading Clinton by a 40%-35% margin. The RealClearPolitics average of polls puts Clinton ahead by 4.6 points with a 46.3%-41.7% edge.

I agree with Shella's observations.

People running for office endorsing other people running for office makes as little sense as people running for office making campaign donations to other people running for office. Yet they both happen with great regularity in the 7th CD.
