My nephews, Lucas and Logan Eitel, helped lead their team to the 2009 Sectional Championship title last night. The Marshall Lions defeated Paris 62-30 to capture the Sectional Title in Illinois' Class 2A boys high school basketball play. They are now 30-0 for the season and one of just eight teams remaining in the state title competition. This is the farthest any Marshall team has ever gone in IHSA tournament play in the school's history. Lucas and Logan have already made plans to play for the ISU Sycamores next year. The Terre Haute Tribune-Star has details of the game here.Dedicated to the advancement of the State of Indiana by re-affirming our state's constitutional principles that: all people are created equal; no religious test shall be imposed on our public officials and offices of trust; and no special privileges or immunities shall be granted to any class of citizens which are not granted on the same terms to all citizens. 62-30?
Robinson's coach had been talking about winning the game last week.
Ouch.
Actually, Marshall defeated Paris by that score to win the Sectional title. Marshall defeated Robinson in its first sectional game I believe 78-70. If you were wondering why the game wasn't streamed live as advertised, when the gentleman was preparing the live stream, Robinson school officials were unable to provide him with a cable connection he needed. Robinson was a little sore that their star player recruited by the University of Illinois wasn't going to get exposure in the state championship finals.
As a former Paris Tiger, I congratulate your nephews and their team.
