Our Muslim congressman has the audacity to compare tea party activists to terrorists and describe them as a "large national security threat." I told you earlier about how Congressman Andre Carson falsely accused people peacefully assembled outside the Capitol of being racists for supposedly calling him "nigger". The only problem with his story was that numerous video and audio clips of the incident failed to record the racist slue; rather it showed Carson and several of his colleagues walking through the crowd of protesters who were shouting, "Kill the bill", in reference to the health care reform legislation. A new audio tape recorded during that same press conference Carson gave records him describing these so-called racists as terrorists as well. Click here to listen to the audio. The Washington Times' Kerry Picket has the full transcript of his remarks to reporters here.
Interestingly, Carson claims from his one-year experience as a watch desk officer at the Indiana Department of Homeland Security that these types of people are the most dangerous. "I worked in homeland security," Carson said. "I’m from intelligence, and I’ll tell you, one of the largest threats to our internal security…I mean terrorism has an Islamic face, but it really comes from racial supremacist groups. (inaudible)." "Its the kind of thing we keep a threat assessment on record [for]." I guess Carson was asleep while all those Muslims were bootlegging cigarettes from Indiana and Michigan to generate profits for terrorist groups in the Middle East
Now, let's see how our local mainstream media completely ignores this story. If a white politician had described peaceful protesters as terrorists like Carson did to this group, he or she would have been pummeled by the local media. Remember the beating Gov. Mitch Daniels got from the media when he compared House Speaker Pat Bauer to a roadside bomber for derailing his legislative efforts? There is a real double standard in how the media covers Carson compared to other local politicians. That's how a guy who finished 88th out of 89 in his class at the police academy could be elected to the U.S. House of Representatives. What an embarrassment.
Hat tip to Frugal Hoosiers.

Well, well, well. For once Carson told the truth.
He IS from intelligence. About as far away from it as one can be.
Carsons an idiot.
Gary,
Andre Carson is a lazy piece of S***.
Andre and his Ghetto Mafie had the dems cross over and vote for Marvin Scott. I do respect Dr. Scott, but the reason he won the primary is because Andre Carson was afraid to face Carlos May in November.
Andre Carson is the terrorist. Not the tea party and he can Kiss my Tea Party A**.
PS F*** Allah!
Representative Baron Hill's labeling of citizens upset at last summer's town meetings as "domestic terrorists" needs be remembered as well. After the World Trade Center, Fort Hood, and now Times Square, you're a "domestic terrorist" to stand-up at town meetings and denounce the policies of the current administration.
Remember November.
Well at least he is getting the recognition he deserves; he is on YouTube and the Neal Boortz web site with the Tea Party terrorist comments. First the pseudo slur and now we are terrorists. So tell me Rep. Carson, peaceful protestations without civil disobedience makes us terrorists. What would Martin Luther King Jr. say about that?
Flipper, You are absolutely wrong about Carson and the primary voting of Democrats. He had opponents and wanted to run up a big margin. Also, he is backing Melina Kennedy and with so many contested precinct committeeperson races, there was a desire to stop Williams' perceived momentum dead in its tracks. He spent money advertising before the primary and he had people out working the polls on election. There was no encouragement to crossover.
Neither Americans who are Muslims or are tea party activists deserve to be called terrorist by any elected official in the USA, much less a Congressperson, and to do so is the height of treacherous speech. Kurt Nimmo, among many notables, predicts that militarized cops will be soon used on the American people as they turn out in the streets in response to the greatest depression now unfolding.
I want the Republican candidate, Dr. Scott, and the libertarian candidate for congress in the 7th district, to respond to this audio of Andre Carson. The kind of rhetoric he used re minds me of the propoganda against white Americans being spewed by the ADL and the SPLC. Traitorous!
The violent acts and threats of violence committed by some of the Tea Party activists does qualify as terrorism. I will agree that most are not terrorists but simply hotheads spewing hate.
Uh, art, fill us in on that. I missed have missed the story about tea party activists committing violent acts. Don't confuse them with the violent protesters on the Left, who have bit off fingers and beaten people with whom they disagree during these protests, all caught on video.
And what about the illegal aliens and their supporters who have been on the rampage since Arizona passed a law providing for strict law enforcement of the immigration laws. This mob has been beating people and destroying property, without consequences.
I sure wish the people of INdianapolis had voted for Sean Shepard for Congress. He was the best candidate in that special election.
Until people wake up and vote outside of this two party cartel, we'll keep getting what we always got.
You still don't get it, Melyssa. Sean Shepard never had a prayer in that race as a third party candidate and only stole white votes away from Jon Elrod. Only white people vote for Libertarians. They never win more than 4% or 5% of the vote and they only cost the Republican candidate the election in a close race. If it is your goal in life simply to play the role of spoiler, then go ahead and support your Libertarian candidates and the 4% or 5% of the vote they can garner at best.
Melyssa, you either participate or you sit back and tilt at windmills. The Libertarian Party is not a player. I guess we can tell which route you have chosen.
First, I read your article and listened to the audio. From the information you provided, Rep. Carson never said the Tea Party were terrorists. He specifically referred to racist supremacist groups. Unless you think all racist supremacist groups are white tea partiers?
Second, racist supremacist groups have killed far more Americans than Islamic terrorists. I won't detail the history of lynching and other crimes committed by racist groups in the past. However, a little recent history may help: James W. von Brunn (shot guards at museum in DC because he hated Jews), Joseph A. Stack (flew plane into an IRS building because he hated taxes and the Obama administration), Richard Poplawski (killed several officers because he loved guns and hated President Obama) and the list goes on.
Racist supremacist groups are a terrorist threat. Unless you only consider it terrorism when the threat is from a Muslim?
Carson gathered the reporters for the purpose of castigating the tea party protesters as racists. He learned from his grandma how to play the race card. She once accused an opponent of racism for using a black and white photo of her in one of his direct mail pieces. She called it racism because she thought she looked unattractive in the photo. Sometimes it's just looking at your self in the mirror and seeing what's there as something you don't like. But I digress. Andre jumped from the conclusion that the protesters were racists and, therefore, a national security threat that was greater than Muslim terrorists. You can't escape that fact.
Dear Advance Indiana:
First, thank you for approving the posting of my comment. Second, you can't escape the fact that racist supremacist groups are a terrorist threat, too. I just wanted to point out after reading your article and listening to the audio that you jumped to the conclusion he was referring to the entire Tea Party or all the protesters as racists. He specifically said that out of 400 or so people maybe 15 shouted nigger. 15 out of 400 is around 3%. Therefore, I postulate he was referring to the 3% that shouted nigger and not the other 397 or so protesters.
I try to give everyone the benefit of the doubt. In this case, I don't think it is unbelievable that a few angry White protesters could have yelled nigger at a group of Black men they felt were responsible for their anger.
Perhaps if 400 angry Black men were yelling at you and a few of them called you racist names you would think they were racist, too.
Black Americans are welcome to join the tea party movement, and in no way should white, or any other color, people feel guilty of diminished, if none attend. Pro-constitution is the way to be, and the pro-liberty and freedom tribe is the one great Americans should want to belong in.
Art & Gary?
Don't you see. I woke up. I realize that it does not matter if I get a Republican or Democrat in office. Both have caused America to end up where she is. They work arm and arm. In fact, I think the same people control Republicans and Democrats. From where I sit, it sure looks like the work together.
Don't believe me? Look at how the city's legal business in Indy is handled. They all get paid no matter what.
Anyway, I've learned that if I keep voting Republican or Democrat, I'm going to get what I've always got which is largely not good government.
So what does it matter if I get Andre Carson instead of X Republican? It really doesn't matter for it changes nothing.
So, I'll vote Libertarian and wait for the day when the rest of people, who feel like I do, wake up and do the same.
Until then, I'm not getting any difference between Republican and Democrat (for the most part).
You would think Ballard would have taught you that lesson. How many times do you have to be burned to learn?
And Gary? I do "get" your argument.
I just think it is insanity to do the same thing over and over again (vote republican) and expect a different result.
Lesser evil isn't good enough for me. Evil is evil.
Your precious Republican party pretty much abandoned you a long time ago. Why do you stay? They don't care about principle and never will, Gary. I admire your tenacity and all you do to point out corruption in your party, but at some point you have to realize it is thoroughly corrupt.
I will extend a caveat that there are a tiny minority of politicians (both R and D) who are principled. But for the most part, they aren't working for us.
