A Pulitzer prize-winning former reporter and columnist for the Indianapolis Star, Dick Cady, has authored a new book entitled, "Scavengers: A True Story of Money, Madness and Murder." Cady tells the story of the ill-fated Jackson family fortune and how it lured 24 people into crime, brought about two murdes and led two men to the electric chair. Cady's first book-signing will take place on September 24, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. at Book Mamas at 9 South Johnson in Irvington. The book is available for purchase on Amazon.com by clicking here.

He's a 'pulitzer prize-winning former reporter for the Star'.
There was a local New Car Dealer here in Indianapolis who at one time was rumored to be a groundskeeper for Jackson. This man suddenly went from being a struggling salesman at a Chev dealership to becoming a principal at his own dealership almost overnight. That was unheard of in the 80's. It was widely rumored that he had something to do with the millions disappearing from Jackson.
There is also a rumor of an auctioneer getting rich after "selling" the Jackson estate. True?, who knows but both went from rags to riches following Jacksons death.
