Over 100 Cars Stolen In Indianapolis During The Past Week

This crime statistic is staggering. IMPD tells WRTV that 126 cars were stolen during the week of Christmas, often because their owners left them idling with the keys in the ignition while the car was warming up. That's closer to the number of stolen cars one would expect to be reported during the entire year, not in a single week. According to the report, only six of the stolen cars have been recovered so far.

IMPD is a drugs-and-traffic outfit. They're powerless to solve a real crime.

IMPD only solves a real crime when they get a tip. If you're driving 51 in a 45, however, you'll see them in action, going after you as Public Enemy #1.

Makes you wonder Joy Rides, snatch and grab something in the car or off to a chop shop???

I can't believe people would leave their autos running with the keys in the ignition. Maybe some wanted their cars "stolen."

I wonder how long it took for the Police to respond once the car was reported stolen??

I don't know who's dumber: those who leave their car running or those who ordered xmas presents on dec 23 and are mad that they did not arrive....all i want for xmas is a brain...

Sounds organized. Now do the cops map the where the cars are being stolen and then look for a pattern. There has to be one smart IT guy downtown.
