Indy On Track For Record Homicide Rate
I don't expect this trend to continue, or at least I hope it doesn't, but Indianapolis is on track to record the highest number of homicides in the city's history based on the killings during the month of January. According to the Bart Lies website, there were 19 homicides during the month of January, which puts us on track for 217 by year's end if that rate continues. Meanwhile, Mayor Greg "Public Safety Is Job One" Ballard traveled to New York City this week to tout the benefit of hosting a Super Bowl at a forum held at New York University and to lobby NFL officials to host another Super Bowl in 2018. He repeated the lie that the Super Bowl generated over $250 million in economic impact for the city, which we know was closer to $50 million before subtracting the tens of millions of dollars in public outlays it cost to host the Super Bowl in 2012.

The most important Public Safety obligation is for a city to keep its streets clear, but Ballard sucks at snowplowing.
Ballard seems to care more about cops than Public Safety.
Now it may happen, but it's January - repeat, January.
Re this trend, read Preston James,
"Urban War Zones in America".
Who doesn't agree with anonymous!!
Btw, instead of hiring more police, on the taxpayer dime, how about if owners of rowdy establishments, hire more private security officers, on their customers' dime, and also, that there be more sponsorship of neighborhood watchers.
