Kevin Ward, Jr. Death Investigation Concluded
The Ontario County Sheriff's Department in Canandaigua, New York announced today that is has concluded its death investigation into the on-track collision on August 9 between a car driven by NASCAR driver Tony Stewart and sprint car racer Kevin Ward, Jr. According to Speed Sport, the investigation results are now in the hands of the district attorney awaiting further review. The results include forensic video enhancement performed by the New York State Police lab in Albany, New York. Reports last month indicated that investigators obtained a second video of the collision taken from a different angle which has not been made public. Stewart returned to NASCAR racing two weeks ago after taking three weeks off following Ward's tragic death. The District Attorney is expected to make an announcement next week regarding the investigation results and indicate what actions, if any, his office will take.
