He's Back
The Wilford Brimley of Indiana politics, John Gregg, is back seeking a rematch in 2016 against Gov. Mike Pence. His down home, folksy act turned off a lot of voters in 2012 who either saw right through the act or saw him as a negative caricature of people's impression of Hoosiers. He's now promising to restore the image of Indiana he claims Gov. Pence harmed by signing into law the Religious Freedom Restoration Act and stop businesses from fleeing the state. Advance Indiana has a challenge to Mr. Gregg. If you're the person you claim to be, let's see you lay your tax returns on the table for every year you served as Speaker of the Indiana House of Representatives. Advance Indiana is very curious how an attorney who practiced law part-time managed to become so wealthy. Prove to us that people who serve as Speaker of the House of Representatives earn all of their money on the up and up. And while your're at it, let's see full disclosure of the clients you've been billing at 10 W. Market Street who have interests before state government. You're right. Indiana deserves more than a PR campaign. We deserve transparent public officials.

Hhmmm... how convenient that the left liberal Democrat contingent already has the "Pence Must Go" signs populating a few Marion County lawns...
John Gregg had a one hundred percent voting record opposing gay rights when he was a state lawmaker. Now he claims to be an advocate for LGBT rights. It doesn't get more phony than that.
I agree with the prior comment. John Gregg is more like Democrat-lite. His views have been mainly opposed to same-sex marriage. These politicians will say anything to get elected.
Look at Charlie Crist in Florida. He's about as big of a flip flop as it gets.
Good question. Why does every House Speaker become a multimillionaire while serving? Do they develop financial savvy they lacked prior to assuming their leadership post, or is it just luck?
when compared to Mike No Charisma Pence, Gregg is a saint
He really needs to learn how to trim that sloppy mustache!
To Anon 1:59... interesting you point that out. Barak Obama, Hillary Rodham Clinton, and Bill Clinton(he of the "don't ask, don't tell" and DOMA- Defense of Marriage Act fame)... ALL were against gay marriage before they were in favor of it... and my LGBT community continues to hold these phonies in high esteem. Go figure.
John was wealthy before he was a state rep. He is from a wealthy family who had many business interests in Southern Indiana. He also worked for Black Beauty and in the coal industry.
Anon 5:39's query, generally makes an excellent point. The elected behave like lottery winners who suddenly discover they have many "new" & connected friends...
Assuming Anon 10:42 has Greg's background right; where has Greg's voice been, in the EPA assault on Indiana's coal industry; closure of 6 of the state's 22 plants this fall (before winter)? Does he understand the dimensions of this problem; one of economics, grid viability & security? If he does understand the problem, where's articulate proof reconciled to his resume as outlined by Anon 10:42?
He made his money the old fashioned way - he inherited it. He is a great guy and would be a credit to the state as governor.
