The Indianapolis Star today editorializes in support of a legislative repeal of Indiana lawmakers' health insurance for life perk, urging the adoption of Rep. Troy Woodruff's HB 1309, currently buried in the Rules and Legislative Procedure Committee.
The Star commends House Speaker Bosma for his adminstrative plan to end the benefit prospectively for retiring House members, while noting that Senate President Pro Tem Robert Garton is still reviewing the perk. Given Garton's performance before State House reporters yesterday, the Star seems to be letting him off easy at this point.
