There is a part of the complaint which has been ignored in most of the local press accounts, but which is included in today's Star story involving Sheriff Frank Anderson's office. These allegations are particularly pertinent because Sheriff Anderson was in charge of the Indianapolis U.S. Marshal's office prior to being elected as Marion Co. Sheriff. Check this out:
In an affidavit accompanying his complaint, Wojdylo says that in May 2006, he notified his superiors about poor care of federal prisoners at the Marion County Jail and that, soon after, a package was inadvertently delivered to him from the Marion County sheriff's office.
In the box, addressed to his superior, were his reports about the jail, along with four tickets to the Indianapolis 500, four tickets to an accompanying race event and other passes with an estimated value of $630.
It was, Wojdylo believes, an attempt to bribe his supervisor into silencing Wojdylo's concerns about the treatment of federal prisoners.
Kevin Murray, counsel to Marion County Sheriff Frank Anderson, said Wojdylo's claims were investigated when they were made.
"As far as I know, all of his allegations have been reviewed by the Inspector General's Office of the U.S. Marshals, and nothing has been substantiated," Murray said.

By the way, who appointed the current U.S. Marshall in charge of the office during the period of these allegations? Ashcroft? Gonzalez? Frank had been out of there for several years.
Wilson this happened years ago.
Anderson was there.
Wilson, if Anderson wasn't with the Marshall Service then he was the Marion County Sheriff when this happened. If the allegations are true he shares responsibly.
Get over it.
I'm no huge Wilson fan, but he's right on this one.
Frank is nolo responsibla on this alleged abuse of the system.
As a matter of fact, for a ringing endorsement of his service as US Marshall, you need only look to one of those who had to deal with him extensively in that role: US District Judge Sarah Evans Barker. Her name is like fingernails on a blackboard to me. She's a sternly conservative Republican, who was chief judge during part of Frank's USM tenure.
Or Rev. "Dr." Greg Dixon, whose southside church was seized upon court order and auctioned. There isn't a bigger rightwing zealot that the good reverend, but he waxes poetic about Frank's humane and professional treatment during that pitiful episode.
A highly-respected US judge who sings his praises to anyone who will listen. And a booted reverend. Care to try again to sully his USM service?
Come prepared or don't come at all. The IndyU bling crap has worn thin.

A part of the allegations are that federal prisoners were being mistreated in the Marion County Jail in 2004. Anderson was Sheriff in 2004.
Well they WHY, pray tell, did the federal court just release Marion County from the decades-old civil lawsuit regarding jail conditions?
Doesn't make sense.
