The Howey Political Report will be holding its 2007 HPR Forum on October 23 from 1:00-5:00 p.m. at the Madame Walker Theater. There will be a joint appearance by Democratic gubernatorial candidates Jill Long Thompson and Jim Schellinger to kick off the forum, followed by Lt. Gov. Becky Skillman. Washington Post blogger Chris Cilliza's will be on hand to give his take on the influence of the Internet and blogging on the 2008 presidential, gubernatorial and congressional races. I will be sitting on a panel of a local bloggers following Cilliza's discussion, which will include Abdul Hakim-Shabazz, Blue Indiana's Thomas Cook and HPR's Mark Curry.“Outside of Democratic Party events, this joint appearance by Schellinger and Thompson will be one of the first of the 2008 campaign sequence open to the general public,” said HPR Publisher Brian A. Howey. “There is great public interest to hear their visions for Indiana’s future.”
Admission to the event is free, but attendees are asked to bring canned food to donate to the Julian Center. Bose Public Affairs is sponsoring the appearance by Chris Cillizza. Other Forum sponsors include Winston/Terrell Group, John Frick & Associates, DLZ and Phillips Communications Group. A free reception at the Walker Center will follow the Forum. "Five state Democratic lawmakers from Anderson, Muncie and Pendleton have written a letter to Indiana Secretary of Commerce Nate Feltman to say they're upset that their constituents were prevented from applying for the 2,000 production jobs created by the Honda Manufacturing of Indiana plant in Greensburg. The lawmakers say their constituents should be able to apply for the jobs at the $550 million plant because their tax dollars were used to fund the incentive package that helped lure the Japanese automaker. Honda is taking applications from only 20 Indiana counties that are within about an hour's drive of the plant."

Somehow, the Republicans have managed to ensure that only Republicans can apply for the available jobs!
Answer#2:
No democrats live in the 20 counties within one hours drive of the new plant.
