Obama's Schedule Still Leaves An Opening

Much ado is being made in the blogosphere and the online media about the apparent lack of an Indiana stop on Obama's schedule for Saturday. As I read the schedule, his big rally at the Old State Capitol in Springfield is not scheduled to begin until 2:00 p.m. That leaves a lot of unscheduled time earlier in the day. It's a mere 3-hour drive from Bayh's old hometown in Shirkieville, Indiana to Springfield, Illinois, not that I'm suggesting such an event would be scheduled at the last minute. A couple of people on the stage last year when Obama made his announcement at this same spot will not be on hand this Saturday. That includes Gov. Rod Blagojevich and Illinois Senate President Pro Tempore Emil Jones, both of whom are tied to corruption scandals in the Land of Lincoln. Blago says he was invited but won't attend to avoid muddying the waters. No word on why Jones is skipping the event. We know Rev. Jeremiah Wright won't return. He was held up in the basement of the Old State Capitol last year when Obama decided at the last minute he wasn't fit to stand on the same stage with him. We know how that relationship ended.

I wonder if Charles Keating will be watching Barack Obama's speech on Saturday? John Sidney McCain III has some well-documented sleaze in his own past, doesn't he now?

I'm sure that McCain will be inviting John Hagee to the announcement that he's selecting Joe Lieberman as his running mate. .

You know, it's a shame that McCain won't be able to ask his good friends Tom Ridge, Lindsey Graham or Joe Lieberman to be on the ticket with him.

I think it will be Hillary. What do you think? I think The One's followers realize that she is his best hope to win. It will be a close election at best for The One, and he needs all the PUMAs he can get.

So maybe that Sibelius chick would do the trick, too.

And I think McCain takes Palin.

Chet Edwards?!?! Isn't that Bush's congressman?

Chet Who? Yeah, I think this would be totally hilarious if Barry put Biden, Bayh, Kaine, et al through this absurd media frenzy only to turn to a little-known congressman from Waco, Texas. You can bet that won't go over well with these guys. Maybe their egos were just too big for Obama. His ego is already as big as one can get. There just isn't enough space in the room for another big ego.

Michael...you post reeks of sexism.....how do get off referring to a governor of a state as a "chick" Please resolve your issues with your mother outside of the political arena.

If Obama picks a dude...

The One's dithering and gameplaying with the veep thing is yet one more thing about him that is fast becoming tiresome.

American is becoming bored with his audacity and preening.
