Hendricks County Deputies Fired
We're seeing more and more cases of law enforcement officers' careers coming to an end after they find themselves on the wrong side of the law. The husband and wife duo, Jason and Teresa Woods, have officially been fired from their jobs as Hendricks County deputy sheriffs. The couple had agreed last October to hold on to a quarter million dollars for a friend in a safe in their home. The couple claimed they didn't know the source from which the friend derived the large sum of cash. Jason Woods claimed he later returned the money during a secret meeting at a McDonald's restaurant but the other man says he never received it. Their boss learned of the missing money from a private investigator, not Woods. The merit board fired them for five violations, including failure to report a crime and conduct unbecoming of a law enforcement officer. WTHR reports that the couple is the target of an ongoing investigation by the Indiana State Police and Department of Homeland Security of a large "Spice" operation.
