Indiana State Police reportedly began investigating Taylor after he allegedly offered to share photos of young girls with another woman with whom he was exchanging texts of a sexual nature. The woman alerted police, and an investigation of Taylor was launched. During a search of Taylor's home, police allegedly found over 400 videos of child pornography on Taylor's computers. News reports indicate law enforcement is removing computer devices from Fogle's home. There is no indication Fogle has been charged with any crime. He obviously wasn't placed in handcuffs as law enforcement conducted their search of his home. Fogle expressed "shock" when he learned of the charges against Tayler and severed all ties to him.
UPDATE: Check out this priceless report from VH-1 Celebrity way back in 2007 about the porn business Fogle ran out of his dorm room while a student at Indiana University in Bloomington:
. . . Well, it turns out in college, the All-American Jared was known for something entirely different. According to our source, while studying at Indiana University, Fogle ran a very successful pornography rental company out of his bedroom. His porn collection was vast and extensive, and Fogle took his business pretty seriously. A video would run a patron a dollar a day (cheap!), and people would come from all over to take advantage of the deal. Needless to say, Jared had enough porn to keep his customers happy.
As far as his incredible weight loss goes, it turns out it wasn’t as motivated as you would think. In fact, what got Jared hooked on Subway in the first place was laziness. The sandwich chain had opened a branch on the first floor of Jared’s dorm, and what with his busy porn company, Jared began eating the sandwiches out of extreme laziness. It was the closest fast food available! Just imagine how different our lives would be if an Arby’s had opened up there instead? We’d probably be watching Jared on some TLC special about how he hasn’t gotten out of bed for 6 years. Though, we imagine his right arm would still be in tip-top shape.Hat tip to MikeC.
WTHR is now reporting that Subway has severed its ties with Fogle. Subway has already scrubbed references to him from its website. That didn't take long.

Can't state police and others review files of a local city councilman?
Its a common misperception that the FBI will not raid your house and take your electronics unless they are 99% certain they will find incriminating evidence. People definitely think that once they take your computer they can find whatever they want to find. Nobody wants to come out too early supporting Jared, because, well who knows what the guy is into? But most people don’t trust the FBI either. Although in my experience many FBI raids yield nothing. During the DC sniper shooting investigation, the 92’ Olympic bombing investigation, the Unabomber investigation the FBI were relentless in following up on leads and many raids proved fruitless. So I guess we wait and see what they find when they pry into the dark abyss that is Jared’s computer. Will there be an arrest? All bets are off.

The FBI cares about pornos but not Ballard, Barnes & Thornburg, sports funding and the other billions in scams?
After the ruling, last week, doesn't someone have the right to an identity to be into kiddie porn? Sodomy and gay marriage went from criminalized to constitutional rights. People didn't choose to be into kiddie porn, did they? I'm sure a defense attorney will make this argument.
What a effed up country.
FACT: Jared has a filthy mouth that he runs in public and on planes in front of children and families. I do not buy Subway, and haven't for YEARS, because of this.
Will someone finally expose this fraud for what he is? Jared's weight loss had nothing to do with his steady diet of Subway food. He was a spoiled, fat Jewish kid born into privilege who was allowed to weave a fable to gain wealth and fame without having to work for it.

I feel so sorry for the children who are being used for pornography or worse, here in Indiana, and hope that the judges here start throwing the book at the adults who are victimizing them and publicize their acts, so that the public will become more enraged. Tom DeLay is claiming that the Justice Department plans to fight to get pedophilia legalized and I pray that he is wrong.
I am sorry that there is so much nastiness connected with this item---which so far is totally only gossip, with the some posts smelling of anti-semitism. Why is Fogle's religion mentioned? Why are there readers who want to bring his father into this? Note that as of now, there are no charges against Fogle, this is for the moment 100% speculation and behavior which I thought one abandons after high school.
If Jared isn't guilty of something big, I hope he sues the FBI for trillions. In one raid, the FBI has ruined his career and professional reputation, and Jared had better have done something bad to deserve that.
I agree with Professor David. The post and comments here are no better than the other trash "news" reporting - lots of gossip and kook conspiracy theories from the local tinfoil hat brigade. Just disgusting.
Maybe Nick and Professor Dave should stick to Sheila Kennedy's blog where they can get their daily fill of anti-Christian bigotry from the author and her readers.
"with the some posts smelling of anti-semitism. Why is Fogle's religion mentioned?"
Professor David:
"Semitic" isn't a religion, it's an ethnicity. Jared doesn't have a drop of semitic blood in his body, though he may be a religious Jew.
You don't become a semite simply by moving to where the semites live.

No one but a psycho/sociopath would think killing, torturing, or enslaving a child for porn is ok. That's way out on the extreme fringes of the porn bell curve in this country. Much more prevalent in eastern Europe and Asia. But there are a couple thousand people in Indiana with precisely that kind of sadistic child porn on their PCs, far too many for the State or Feds to go after. So they take them down one by one. There are only a handful of truly skilled state and federal child porn investigators in this state. You probably saw most of them on the Indianapolis stations covering the Jared thing.
If you put your PC 'to sleep', a forensic investigator can get right in it. It's not really 'asleep', it's 'awake' and your password is in plain text in the 'awake' memory so you can log in quicker than if you had logged out or shut your PC off. If you log out or shut your PC off, and have a password as complex as the industry spokespersons suggest, there's no way forensic investigators can get into it. I'll spare you the technical reasons, but they can't. If you're totally geekified and have encrypted your HD, not even God or the NSA can get in if you log out or turn your machine off.
Your smart phone however, is a treasure trove of information you might not want your mother to see, much less the FBI. Unless you regularly 'wipe' your smart phone to its brand new state, it's all there, like an open book for a forensic investigator with a search warrant. Nothing is ever deleted, you have to 'wipe' it. That removes all your stuff which you can restore if you've backed your phone up. Just about every law enforcement agency in the US, large and small, has a device that can quickly get into your smart phone if you've only used the standard, four-digit pass code or a swipe code. Those only keep your family out. If you've used a complex password, like you might on a PC, you're much safer. And unless you're a suspected terrorist, they're not going to spend any time trying to bust a complex password on a phone or PC because there are too many possible combinations.
One of the problems with this kind of Jared investigation is if you read the fed statutes relating to porn and such their bar is set surprisingly low. You see plastered all over local TV where law enforcement goes after someone for child porn. IF they find any porn at all that fits a state or fed porn statute they're gonna charge him, even if it's just one count (as in the recent case of an Indianapolis FBI agent), even if their case is as thin as Ballard's credibility. If he's convicted, or, as is more likely, agrees to a plea bargain because he can't afford for an attorney to fight for him in a federal court forever, as far as the media knows it was for sadistic child porn.
We certainly don't need purveyors of child porn in our communities, but neither do we need to sustain the business models of the Salem witch trials, or the Spanish Inquisition.
Nobody expected the Spanish Inquisition!!
